where i started

In addition to studying Apparel and Merchandising at Colorado State University, I studied Fashion Styling and Trend Forecasting in Paris. By going to Paris, I fell in love with beauty and fashion styling and started blogging. These are some of my assignments while in Paris.

Paper: A creation from magazine cutouts. I decided to create a paper collar and shoulder pads on my fitted blazer and a second set of eyes or false eye lashes.

Tribal:  I found inspiration in African and Native American tribes. I tried to mix my traditional inspirations with modern clothing and beauty styling.

Photographed at La Defense, Paris, France, I wanted to contrast the structured architecture with soft whimsical clothing.

Food: I found inspiration in all the wonderful French bread. I made a bread belt, that doubled as a fanny-pack and purse, croissant bracelets and necklace. I also wanted to do something with the face, so I put sprinkles on her eyebrows, lips and check bones and topped it off with a bread hat!

Voodoo: When I first thought about his theme, I thought of pins and rag dolls. But after thinking about this a little more, I found an inspiration of dark vs. light. I found a sheer pink polyester fabric at one of the many stores at Sacre-Coeur in Paris.

Nip Tuck: From a current outfit I created a new outfit. I found my outfit at a second-hand store in Paris. I selected a hideous floral dress and a black spandex skirt. I cut out the floral design and pasted it on my models face, used the lining of the dress to create a shirt and only slightly altered the skirt to accent the shirt created.

History: Inspired by Madame Pompadour, I styled outfits focusing on the clothing but accessorizing them with bows. Madame Pompadours outfits always had an excessive amount of bows, creating a very feminine appearance.
